The Mira Costa Swim Team is a co-ed team that competes in spring in CIFSS Division 1 and is proud to boast a four-year streak as reigning Bay League Champions. Swim is a cut sport, comprising Boys and Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity teams and a small Alternate squad.
Swim season starts at the beginning of March and culminates with CIF Championships in early May. Athletes are expected to attend meets and practices outside regular school hours, plus pre-season dryland training — full commitment is expected from those who make the team.
Swimming is both an individual and team sport: swimmers compete and are scored as a team while still working toward their own personal-best times and goals, as developed by their coaches.
To join the Mira Costa Swim email distribution list or ask questions, email mchsswimdive@gmail.com and follow @miracostaswim on Instagram. Dive: if you wish to compete in diving, please contact our coaches — diving practices and competitions are held off-campus, and more information is available on request.

Contributions support the swim and dive program throughout the season.

Swim and Dive is a spring sport and a cut sport, with Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. These are competitive groups: athletes attend meets outside regular school hours plus pre-season dryland training, and full commitment is expected from those who make the team. There is no summer obligation.
At tryouts, swimmers must swim 100 yards freestyle and 50 yards each of butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke. Previous club swimming experience is recommended. Tryouts are held at the start of the school year (October) — specific dates to come.
New and returning swimmers must complete SNAP / 8to18 registration, and new swimmers must also register on Team Unify. Questions? Contact Pip Coyne at mchsswimdive@gmail.com or 310-308-7816.
