Mira Costa High School and Mustang Football proudly celebrate a tradition of excellence, character and community pride.
With countless CIF playoff appearances, five runner-up finishes and three CIF championships, Mira Costa Football has earned its place among Southern California’s premier high school football programs. Much of that success has been built under longtime Head Coach Don Morrow, whose commitment to developing both athletes and young men has shaped generations of Mustangs.
The program includes Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman teams, united by a shared commitment to hard work, discipline and the pride of wearing green and gold. While Friday nights at Waller Stadium are the heart of the season, the work never stops — year-round conditioning, weight training and preparation build the foundation for success on and off the field.
At its core, Mira Costa Football is about more than championships. Under Coach Morrow’s leadership the program instils values that last a lifetime: integrity, perseverance, accountability, teamwork and, above all, love — for one another, for the program and for the game.

Donations go directly to the program — coaching, equipment and season costs.

Football is a Fall Sport. Conditioning occurs year-round for players who do not play other Costa sports.
Experience is welcome but not mandatory — most players have never played organised tackle football before their freshman summer.
Mira Costa Football offers summer conditioning (no pads / non-contact) to all players and interested incoming freshmen through MBX. Registration and complete information are available in March.
