Welcome to the Mira Costa Flag Football Program. The program was launched in 2023 and has performed competitively at both the Bay League and CIF levels. There are two teams: Varsity and JV.

Flag Football is a Fall Sport. At this time it does not include an off-season component.
Donations go directly to the program — coaching, equipment and season costs.

Flag Football is a Fall Sport and a cut sport. There are two teams — Varsity and JV — with total roster size ranging from 30 to 40 players.
Tryouts are typically in late May, with several optional clinics held in the preceding weeks. Tryouts generally last two days and are supervised by the coaching staff. Decisions are made the weekend following tryouts and all players are notified thereafter, with a goal of forming the team before school lets out for summer.
Prior experience is not required but is helpful, as Mira Costa flag football is fairly competitive.
Practices begin one to two weeks before school starts with a mandatory preseason, as games start within a day or two of the first day of school. The season runs until late October, although Varsity may run into mid-November depending on CIF playoffs.
