Costa Girls Water Polo advance to CIF semi-finals!

The Girls Water Polo team had a demanding schedule with  2 tournaments over 2 weekends, and league games during the week.  The ladies fought to wins for 9 of the 12 games, defeating all of their division teams. Varsity remains undefeated in the Bay League, 9-1 in their division, and 16-9 overall. Summer Updates for Girls Water Polo!

Over the summer, many of the Mira Costa Girls Water Polo players qualified and played in Northern California for the 2018 USA Water Polo Junior Olympics.  Costa was represented on several of the teams – South Bay United, OC Riptides, and HB Water Polo. The Mira Costa Girls Water Polo team earned the 2017-2018 Bay League Championship Title during their season. The girls were undefeated in the Bay League and in May Kelly Kemp presented them with the trophy. Sophomore Leigh Lyter received the Bay League’s Most Valuable Player.

Mira Costa Girls Varsity Water Polo reclaimed the Bay League trophy last week after beating Redondo 9-6 to finish the season 8-0 in Bay League and 13-0 in regular season play.  The Mustangs routed Redondo the week before in a 9-7 match and then overcame West 14-5.  The Lyter sisters,
