Bay League Meet #1 Mira Costa Cross Country had a great showing at our first Bay League meet. Girls JV took first place with strong performances by Piper Newton (1st) and Ally Doyle (2nd) Girls Varsity also took first place honors with freshman Dalia Frias in 1st place followed by senior Brooke Inouye in 2nd place. MCXC had a stellar day at the Masters University Cross Country Invitational in Santa Clarita on September 29th. Mira Costa Cross Country travelled to Oahu, Hawaii with a selection of its top runners to compete in the 20th annual Iolani Cross Country Invitational. It was a clean sweep as Mira Costa emerged the meet’s winners, taking first place across the board for the Men’s & Women’s Open & Varsity
Mira Costa Cross Country opened the season on August 30th with a low key meet in Palos Verdes, running a shorter 2 mile course instead of the traditional 3 mile distance. The Costa Cross Country Team closed out their regular season competition last week at Bay League Finals where the Boys Varsity, Boys Freshmen and Girls Freshmen teams were crowned Bay League Champions. Desert Twilight Sweepstakes On September 30th, the Costa Cross Country team traveled to Arizona for the Desert Twilight Sweepstakes. They competed in the following six races: Boys and Girls Sweepstakes race (the premier race of the evening), Boys and Girls Large School Varsity and Boys and Girls Large School Open.
