Wrestling updates!

Over the weekend of February 14-16, the Boys Wrestling Team was at Marina High School.  The team had 5 wrestlers place and 4 qualified to Masters.  There was hope that they could break a school record and have five people wrestle in Masters, but fell one short of the goal.  Congratulations to the following 5 wrestlers!
Greg Sevaston (12) – 152 lbs – 2nd Place
Reid Inskeep (12) – 160 lbs – 4th Place
Andrew Chaney (11) – 138 lbs – 5th Place
Taro Iyadomi (12) – 182 lbs – 6th Place
James Hennessey (11) – 195 lbs – 7th Place

The Girls were at Camarillo High School for the CIF Qualifier. The team had 3 girls qualify for CIF.

Jessica Patton (11) – 143 lbs – 5th Place
Fiona Thomas (12) – 150 lbs – 5th Place

Over the weekend of February 22-23, the Wrestling Team finished their season and missed getting anyone to the State competition.  For the girls, Cali Sheldon made it to the top 16 in CIF of about 120 teams in the section.  The top 8 make it to State.  For the boys, Greg Sevaston made it to the top 12 of about 300 schools.  The top 9 go to State.

Everyone should be very proud of all the hard work the team put in this year.  Next year the team will continue to push toward having state qualifiers.
