Xavier Court breaks 3200m Costa record and heads to California State Championship!

Xavier Court (Senior) was fortunate to win the 3200m at the CIF Southern Section Masters event on Saturday, May 26th at El Camino.  This places him as the number 1 seed going into the Californian State Championships this coming weekend in Fresno.

In the process Xavier surpassed the standing record for the past 37 years which was held by his current coach, Jeff Atkinson, who ran in the 1988 Olympics.  Xaviers time was 9:01.78 vs the prior Costa record set by Jeff of 9:03.7.

This is the second Mira Costa Track record Xavier has been fortunate to break this 2018 Track season.  The other race was the 1600m which Xavier lowered from the prior record of 4:12.35 down to 4:10.9.
