We are excited to share some fantastic news from the Mira Costa Cybersecurity Club!
Our club recently participated in the first round of the CyberPatriot competition, with impressive results. For those unfamiliar, CyberPatriot is a national youth cybersecurity program created by the Air Force Association (AFA). It’s designed to inspire students toward careers in cybersecurity and other STEM fields.
- Two out of our three teams scored a perfect 36/36!
- One team completed the challenge in just 1 hour 56 minutes, well within the allotted 4-hour time frame, and placed in the top 4.48% nationwide!
- The second team also scored a perfect 36/36 and ranked in the top 12.64%.
- The third team earned a 35/36 (still a remarkable performance!) placing in the top 14.36%.
If you’re interested in joining the Cybersecurity Club, we meet every Wednesday at lunch in Room 112 (Mr. Selmi’s room). New members are always welcome, and there’s no experience required—just an interest in learning about cybersecurity and building your skills. We do lots of cool competitions, like Cyberpatriot, throughout the year, as well as interesting presentations, volunteer opportunities, and more!
