Costa Softball Back On The Field

It’s been since March 9th that the Costa softball program was on the field at MCHS.  After a 6-month hiatus Costa Softball was one of the first sports given the “return to play” green light on September 30th.  Even though the return is under Covid-19 protocols, “the players and coaches are grateful to be back on the dirt,” Coach Michael Smith said.   Part of the return to play guidelines include sanitizing the softballs after each team drill and a daily player & coach questionnaire for contact tracing purposes in the event a player or coach is diagnosed with Covid.  “Player, coach and their respective families’ safety is priority number one,” Coach Smith added.  So far the softball program has remained Covid free on and off the field, with the hope that if the program continues on that same trend, that playing games will become a reality in the near future.
