Mira Costa Lady Ruggers Host Fall Mini Tournament

The Lady Ruggers of Mira Costa have the season fully underway as the sport has adopted the Fall Season.  The move to the fall has allowed girls that also play soccer, basketball and softball to finally be able to play and experience the great game of rugby.

This year’s addition of Ruggers is lead be Senior Captain Nisi Tuitupou.  Nisi is a four year player and an outstanding player as well as being a fantastic team leader.  Nisi is supported by two juniors to help bolster the Mustangs, Kamyjah Blackwell and Fede Sorrentino (our Italian exchange student).  Both young ladies bring some physicality to the program while the rest of the side is rounded out by some solid underclasswomen.

Two weeks ago the ladies hosted sides from Carson, Los Alamitos and Cathedral Catholic High Schools.  The Mustangs did an outstanding job and have brought back our program from last year’s cancellation of the season due to covid.

As for our boys, our schedule is slowly coming together (also another victim of covid).
