Mira Costa Boys Lacrosse Open’s the Season with a Big Win over City Section Champs Palisades Charter
Varsity was led by an outstanding performance at the Faceoff X by Junior Trevor Flynn. Junior’s Jack Fiorito and Diego Carpenter had 3 goals apiece, followed by Senior’s Jack Storer and Colin Shaw’s 2. Freshman Dylan Fenton made a huge impact on the wings and also tallied a goal in his first high school varsity contest. The Defense played great as a whole, with Long Stick midfield stand out Christopher Tarnay who tacked on a transition goal for good measure. Goalie’s Simon Ferris and Michael Butler each recorded 6 saves. The Mira Costa JV program would not be out done, winning their game with just .9 seconds left on an amazing full field clear to a goal by Sophomore Yann Ottinger. The team was led by Freshman Nick Marsh’s 4 goals, and 7 other mustangs adding a goal. Costa spends the next two weeks on the road against Crespi, Santiago, and Brentwood and will be back at home on 3/1 vs Long Beach Cabrillo.
