End of the 2022 season
The Mira Costa High School Football team wrapped up the 2022 season last week with a tough playoff loss to Newbury Park High School 41-14. The Mustangs secured a playoff spot by finishing the season with a strong 8-2 record, with losses only to Palos Verde High School and St Francis High School. Sophomore quarterback Nico De La Cruz stepped up this year for the Mustangs throwing for over 2,600 yards and 24 touchdowns. Cole Crotty and Reese Leonard topped the charts in passing yards and touchdowns, while Matthew Kraskoukas averaged over 100 rushing yards per game and scored 20 touchdowns. The team recognized the 39 graduating seniors and will also celebrate their successful season at their end of season banquet next month. Congratulations Mustangs!
