Costa Boys Beach volleyball defeats Loyola and begins season with a 2-1 record!
Mira Costa Boys Beach Volleyball opened the season on August 26 against Loyola High School and Notre Dame. In Beach tournaments, each school fields three doubles teams. The school that wins 2 out of 3 of the matches is the winner of the dual.
The pairs of sophomores Jack Hopkins and Sam Collins, juniors Thomas Krestchmer and Adam Sevier, and juniors Will Bond and Lauch Farris all defeated their opponents from Notre Dame.
Against Loyola, Mira Costa won on Court 1 with Hopkins and Collins and Court 3 with Bond and Farris, but lost on Court 2 with Krestchmer and Sevier. However, as the winner of two out of three matches, Costa won the dual.
The second tournament of the season took place on September 9. Costa played Palisades Charter High School, while their match against West Torrance was rescheduled.
Costa lost to Palisades when Court 1 pair senior Max Cajuste and sophomore Jack Walmer and Court 2 pair Collins and Hopkins were defeated. Court 3, with Kretchmer and Bond, won their match. However, with a 1-2 outcome, Palisades was the winner.
